I’ve just returned to relative normality after a fairly long Christmas break filled with warm, meaningful festive gatherings with friends and family.
This edition will be short and will revisit a thought I recently posted on social media regarding the interplay between perfection and imperfection.
Here it goes:
The imperfect is perfect because lack gives purpose, while the perfect is imperfect because it lacks the very deprivation that fosters growth and creates meaning.
Whatever lacks imperfection, lacks the need for striving; whatever lacks the need for striving is already perfect, with no more distance between being and becoming, no more gap between wanting and having, no more trajectory between beginning and destination.
To put it differently—without lack, there is no aim, no challenge to overcome, no maze to navigate, no purpose to orient towards—no story to weave.
Without story, there is no communication, no resonance, no alliance—no vibe, no tribe.
I therefore wish you an ‘imperfect’ 2025 full of meaningful mazes to navigate, problems to solve, and puzzles to expand the borders of your character.
